Ok, so Mom has gotten VERY slack on keeping our pregnancy journal updated! She claims that she's been too busy
with other things to "play" on the computer, but I don't believe her. But anyways, here is a recap of some of the highlights
of what's been going on over the past 4 1/2 months. Enjoy...
On January 26th, Mom went in to school with her good friend who's in trainning to be a massage therapist to help her
with her lab work. She needed an actualy pregnant person to practice on, as she had just started her pregnancy massage
class. Of course Mom was delighted and was more than willing to help! This was nice, and it fit well into what
Mom and her friend had been talking about a few weeks before...Mom has asked her friend if she'd like to come over to our
house and help Mom during labor and delivery with massage. Her friend was very thrilled that she asked her, and both
are super excited about the oppportunity!
On February 22nd, that night Mom started having really crazy braxton hicks contractions! She ha been having them
before, but nothing like they were that night! They woke her up at about 11pm, and lasted for about 90 minutes, coming
on every 2-3 minutes. Mom was in quite a bit of pain with these contractions, and was actually starting to get concerned
that she might be going into preterm labor. She was just about to wake Dad up and call her midwife when the contractions
stiopped al together. The braxton hicks contractions have come back here and there, but are not painful or regular anymore.
So Mom is able to relax again.
On Saturday, March 8th, Mom and Dad went over to Bellview to get a 3D ultrasound done of me. Mom enjoyed it so
much with Katie that she HAD to do one for me too! I was being quite a silly girl for the ultrasound...I had my feet
up by my face, and actually started licking my left foot, lol. I wasn't too much in the mood for pictures, and kept
trying to hide my face or turn over, but I eventually gav everyone a nice smile for the camera.
As of Friday, April 10th, Mom had 30 days away from my due date. So she tought that she'd repost this from back
in her blog when pregnant with Katie, just because it was cute. Enjoy... :-)
Baby Eviction Notice I am issuing
a 30 day notice for EVICTION. Tenant will have 30 days in which she can either gather he belongings and promptly vacate the
premises, or wait until the final day. After which, she will be physically removed from the property.
She's being evicted
due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits,
were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made!
Remodeling
and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage,
there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints
about nightly disturbances.
After 30 days from this day that she doesn't comply with the notice will result in immediate
and forceful removal at my discretion.
April 14th was Mom's home visit withher midwife. The midwife's assistant also came, along with both Mom's good riends
who will be attending the birth. All 3 of my siblings were there too, as they will most likely be at home when I'm born,
to greet me. The home visit went well. All the final plans got discussed, and Mom is totally ready for her waterbirth at home!
Mom has been REALLY nesting lately, getting ready for my arrival...cleaning here and organizing there. Even Dad has
found himself keeping busy with "this needs to get done before the baby gets here" projects, lol.
Last Thursday, Mom noticed a definite change in the pain and pressure in her pelvis, and with the shape of her belly.
And since then she's had 5 people tell her that it looks like I've droped! Mom has had a few other signs that I may
be on my way soon, but who knows...maybe I'll decide to come late like my sister did...just to drive Mom crazy. Hang in there Mom. Just a few short weeks left to go!

Today was a big day! Mom had her mid-pregnancy ultrasound today and we got to find out what I am!!! Drum
roll please.....................I'm a GIRL! My name is Danielle Grace Schweizer. Totally surprised Mom...and everyone
else too...as she was certain that I was going to be a boy! She and Dad were hoping for two of each, but are very happy
with God's decision to give them another girl. Kyle will just be extra special to them. :-)
The rest of the ultrasound went very well. The technicial was very good at talking to Mom, explaining to her what
she was looking at and what I was doing. Mom got some really great pictures, including my feet and hands, spine, profile,
etc. I'm measuring right on track for my due date of May 10, 2009 and now weigh approximately 8 ounces.
Mom's next appointment with our midwife is this coming Thursday. Nothing new at this appt. Just the usual
stuff.

Mom is 16 wks 5 dys along now and got quite a baby bump already! :-) She decided to show it off, and have my brother,
Kyle, take some pics of her. Her first belly shoot! The pictures turned out pretty good for a 5 year old taking
them! Good job Kyle! You look great Mom!

Today, Mom finally really started feeling me move! The prior week, she'd thought that she had felt
a few little flutters here and there, but they always were so quick that it made her think that it was just all in her head.
Then all of the sudden today, it was definitely apparent to Mom that it WAS me that she was feeling! She's
feeling my little kicks, which feel like little flutters all the time now! She loves it! Totally
makes the pregnancy even more real! Feeling life in side of her is so special and wonderful to Mom! Everytime she
feels me move, it reminds her of how amazing pregnancy is, and how amazing life really is, even at that early
stage!

On Monday, Mom had a scheduled appointment with her OB. She had this appointment scheduled before she decided to
go with her midwife, but decided to go ahead and keep the appointment so that she could talk to her doector in person and
tell him of her decision, rather than just not show up. So she went, and the "dreaded conversation" went realy well.
Her doctor was very supporive of her decision, and was happy to hear that he works with the midwife that we've chosen.
He said to feel free to see him if anything come up, and that he expects a picture when the baby is born. Mom was very
relieved when she left that appt.
Today, Mom and Dad had their first official prenatal visit with Peggy (her midwife). They filled out paperwork,
listened to me, and Mom got her initial prenatal bloodwork drawn. They discussed the defect screening test, and Mom
and Dad opted out of doing any testing due to the high false positive rate, and the high stress/anxioty level that the waiting
for the results causes. And for once, Mom and Dad didn't feel pressured or "looked down upon" because we decided not
to do the test. Mom's next appointment is Thursday, December 11th. At that appt, she'll have her 20 week ultrasound
scheduled!!!

Mom is officially DONE with her first trimester now! She's feeling MUCH better, with no more nausea, and completely
able to eat/drink anything that she wants again! And she's getting energy back, and is able to stay awake past 8:00pm,
lol. She's not felt me move yet, but she can find my heartbeat very easily now with her doppler, and my heartbeat is
much more pronounced now. Mom has started feeling contractions, but is not worried. Having contractions all throughout
pregnancy is normal for her, and she knows that they're nothing to worry about...and knows how to tell IF they are a problem.
So no worries there.

Yesterday, Mom and Dad had their appointment with the midwife to discuss a homebirth, and it went extremely
well! They learned a lot, and have a much better idea of how things work and such. And Mom found out
that this midwife has hospital and physician back up with the hospital that she'd go to anyway, and with the
doctor that she sees already, which is wonderful because if she needs to discuss anything with a doctor, whether
it be during a client's pregnancy, labor, or delivery, then she can. And it would be great for Mom because this
doctor would have already seen and know her. This midwife runs prenatal visits the same way as doctors do, with
the exception that the visits are out of her home instead of an office. She has the ability to do the usual lab work,
and to order the usual prenatal tests if needed or wanted. And she's all about making sure that the parents and family
are totally in control with the care, labor and birth. None of the "well, you really need to do this, or we don't
do that here" type of thing that you usually here from hospital staff. So now.
So Mom and Dad have compared all of the aspects of both a hospital birth and a homebirth, just to cover all of the
rest of our questions reguarding insurance and such, and have made a huge and wonderful decision...I'm going to be bornat home!!!!
Both Mom and Dad are super excited about this, and LOVE their midwife! This is going to be an experience that Mom will
never forget!
Mom and Dad have finally made a decision on names for me. For a boy, they've chosen Logan James, and for a girl,
they've chosen Danielle James. Mom thinks that I'm a boy...we'll see come December. :-)

Today, at 9 weeks, 5 days, Mom was able to find, and listen to, my heartbeat with her doppler that she has at home!
My heart rate was 176bpm, and Mom was super excited! It was kind of touch to hear with all of the other noises, but
it was there! My siblings were really excited to hear it too! As was Daddy! A very exciting time in this
rough first trimester for MOm!!!

Today, Mom had her first OB visit with her new doctor that was highly recommended to her by several of her friends.
Mom was VERY happy with this doctor and was completely comfortable with him from the very first moment. This is very
important to Mom, especially for pregnancy related matters. They talked and Mom's doctor said that since it was too
early to hear my heartbeat with the doppler, that he'd do an ultrasound so that he could see my heartbeat and so that Mom
could get some pictuers. So Mom had her ultrasound done, and I was very cooperative and I allowed him to get some really
good pics of me. I'm laying on my right side, and you can see my arms and legs. Doc told Mom that I'm the perfect
little gingerbread baby. :-) My heart rate measured at a strong 177 beats per minute. :-)
Mom was expecting to have an exam and blood work done, but her doctor told her that he doesn't like to do pelvics
and blood work on the first appointment because he wants the patient to get to know him first, and feel more comfortable.
This was totally new to Mom as she's use to the Navy's way of getting everything done, no matter how unpersonal
or great the appointment goes. Another thing that Mom really liked about this doctor. He was all about
making sure that Mom was comfortable, and establishing a good relationship with her from the very beginning.
Mom's actually starting to feel a little bit better as far as the nausea goes. She's actually been
able to eat a little dairy here and there, and the other day was actually able to drink a glass of milk again!
Only 3 more weeks left in our first trimester...Mom's counting down the days, but it's getting easier each day.
Friday, September 26, 2008
The pregnancy sickness is definitely into full swing 24/7. Mom can manage to eat a meal here and
there, depending on how she's feeling, but it's usually only one meal a day, and overall, nothing appeals to her
at all. Oyster crackers and water are her best friends right now! she's noticed the pattern
though that ANY amount of kind of dairy will trigger the nausea and vomitting! This makes Mom sad
because she LOVES milk!!! She LOVES dairy, but she can't eat/drink it! And the funny thing is that she's
actually craving dairy! All she wanted yesterday was Dad's extra fluffy and cheesy eggs. Absolutely
nothing else appealed to her, except for his eggs. So when they got the kids to bed, he made some eggs, and Mom
ate them, enjoying every bite. They were SO delicious, but then paid for it later, being so sick in the night!
It's so strange how hormones will make you crave something so much that makes you so sick! Another totally crazy
thing from this pregnancy!
Aside from the "wonderful" pregnancy sickness that Mom's been having, she's had some excitement this week...On Tuesday, she noticed
that she's starting to get a "baby bump" already! She was gretting dressed that morning and her pants
just didn't fit right. So she actually paid attention, and sure enough...there was the pooch of her baby belly!
Doesn't look like much now (obviously since we're just 8 weeks), but the remaining flab left over from Katie doesn't
hang anymore, but is now a nice rounded shape. :-) And Mom can feel her uterus already too.
So can Dad. He noticed it that night when he and Mom were laying in bed snuggling. He had his hand
on Mom's tummy, and said "oh wow...baby's really starting to grow!" Mom knew that when he said that, that she
wasn't just dreaming or being overly excited. She's got the feeling that she's going to be huge this time! She's
never starting popping this early!
Now, it's time for the big news...Mom and I had our ultrasound today! To get the big question out of
everyone's head...yes, there is only ONE of me in here :-). Mom was even wondering if I had a twin in here with the
way things have been going! lol. But it's just me! Mom got to hear my heartbeat today at 150 beats per minute.
Her doppler won't pick it up yet, because my heart is so small, but it should within the next two weeks or so.
Today, I measured a little over 1/2 an inch long and measured right on track for our due date of May 20, 2009!
And I'm positioned in the upper front part of Mom's uterus, so the tech said that that's probably a reason why I'm starting
to pop out so soon. Mom will go back at 20 weeks (in mid December) for our big ultrasound to determine
gender and such. Mom's posted pics of my ultrasound and her blely on our growth stats page, so go check it out!
And you all definitely have to play Mom's baby game now! Have fun and good luck!

The pregnancy is continuing to change. Mom's nausea-free days have seem to disappear :-(. Starting
this past week, each day has gotten progressively worse with more time of feeling yucky, and with less time of actually
feeling hungry. Mom's not throwing up too much, although it has occured, but just feels louzy! There's
about a two hour windeow in the middle of the day where she actually wants to eat. But if she
doesn't eat then, she'll have missed her chance because she'll feel too bad to eat later. Only 5 more
weeks in our first trimester though...I think Mom can handle it! :-)
Mom rescheduled our ultrasound for Friday, September 26th instead of that following Monday. Works
out better for everyone that way, having to coordinate between schools, activitites and baby sitters. So get my first
close up a few days early. :-).

Today, Mom got the opportunity to take a really nice nap. When she woke up, she
had the biggest craving for KFC's boneless honey bbq wings. Well, since those are items that they only have every now
and then, she actually called directory assistance to get KFC's number to call them to find out IF they even had
them before sending Dad over there when he got home. So she proceeded to call KFC. They DID have them!!!!!!!! She
was SO EXCITED! And it was only 4:30pm...she still had 2 1/2 - 3 hours before she could get a hold of those wings!!!!!
It was a LONG few hours! But she finally did get her wings though. She purposely got a 20
piece box, and some biscuits with the intensions of sharing with the rest of the family and/or having some for lunch
tomorrow. But she ended up eating the biscuits and the whole dang box, with the exception of the TWO that Dad
had! Then, she couldn't stop drinking grape juice! She drank an entire 48 fl oz bottle of it! And normally, Mom
HATE grape juice when she's not pregnant! Bizzare cravings today, huh? :-)

Yesterday, Mom made a few calls. One to get herself set up with our first OB
visit. She's very happy because when she called the clinic, the scheduling nurse said
that Mom could see the doctor that she was hoping for. Mom's gotten numerous recommendations for this
doctor and has heard that he is wonderful. So our first appointment with him is Monday, October 6th at 1:30pm.
The nurse also told Mom that the ultrasound department should call this week to get us scheduled for an ultrasound,
for sometime at the end of this month. Well, they actually called today, and Mom and I have an appointment for Monday,
September 29 th at 8:00am.
The second call that Mom made yesterday, was to a midwife that she found over
in Bainbridge Island (about 30 minutes away from here). Mom and Dad are considering having a homebirth with
me. Nothing is definete yet, as Mom and Dad still have many questions as far as insurance coverage/, how it all works,
etc and such like that. So after chatting with this nice lady for over a half hour, Mom got scheduled for a consult
in late October so that they (Daddy too) could meet, go over all information with a fine-toothe comb, ask more questions,
etc. Mom's super excited about the meeting. She's still going to continue to see her OB as scheduled,
until either she transfer care to the midwife (if my parents decide to do the homebirth), or stay with him
if they decide to not do the homebirth. Right now, Mom would be happy with either situation...both providers sound
really great.

Mom's definitely feeling the pregnancy now!!! Tire tired tired! She's started taking naps (when she
can) in the afternoon when Katie naps. She's come to the conclusion that her body must be needing
protien because she's totally craving meat and peanuts. Not just any peanuts...they have to still be in the shell for
her to carck open, lol. She will eat the entire bag of peanuts if someone doesn't take the bag away from her,
lol!! So far, I'm not making Mom feel nauseous during the day, but it hit her pretty hard at night...usually around
7:30/8:00 or so. Luckly by then, my brother and sisters are winding down, and are soon in bed. So Mom
can rest and lay down and go to sleep herself. During this pregnancy, Mom is also finding that she really loves
green gatorade, which she usually would hate. This pregnancy is really turning out completely different than any
of her others. It's fun for Mom to see how they all compare. Mom hasn't made her first prenatal visit yet.
Still trying to figure out how it all works in the civilian world. She should have it figured out this week though.
Thursday, August 28, 2008
Today, Mom got a wonderful surprise...she found out that I am here! Mom and Dad weren't really trying for me, but
God had other plans. Mom and Dad are super excited about me, and they know that my brother and sisters will be too!
Mom took a home pregnancy test this afternoon just for kicks. She didn't think that she was pregnant, but knew that
the posibility was there. Plus running on the fact that she had been unusually exhausted the past three days and that
today, she got extremely nauseous while brushing her teeth. For some reason, having an extreme adversion to mint toothpaste
has always been a sign with every one of Mom's pregnancies...weird, huh?
So anyways, the test came back crystal clear positie! Mom was really surprised! She told Dad when he came
home from work, and he's really happy. He gave Mom a huge hug and rubbed her belly, and even started talking to me already.
Isn't that sweet?
Now comes the fun part...telling everyone else! :-)
